I happen to think global orgasm day is phenomenally stupid but I disagree with a lot of her specific criticisms. Criticising it for being a media stunt is pretty pointless, given that pretty much ALL activism involves attempts to get media attention and government attention (whichever comes first the other will shortly follow, at least if the level of attention is high enough) - even things she advocates, like writing to your congressperson. I think the main problem with Global Orgasm Day is that it will generate the wrong KIND of media attention - i.e. "look at these silly moonbats" and an open door for comments from the religious right about the immorality of it all (war is OK but sex is bad. it's an old story).
It reminds me of my own response, much simpler and more unformed, which said, "Oh, um, that's . . . cute. What will it do? I mean, other than get attention?" I'm not sure the people sponsoring it would know what to do with the attention once they did have it.
